Filmit India FILM FESTIVAL 2020-21
Filmit India FILM FESTIVAL 2020-21
FILMIT INDIA is an initiative by INTACH AND THE HELEN HAMLYN TRUST. It is a multi-cultural project that aims at nurturing cultural understanding, care and concern amongst school children through the exciting experience of making and sharing films. FILMIT engages students (classes 6-8) in developing short films (1 to 2 minutes) on their culture that can be shared through the internet with school children in other cities of India. The FILMIT themes this year was on Heritage through my Home (*shot inside the house or even two/three students coming together to shoot a film through an online collaborative technique). It encourages students from schools and cities pan India to become future film makers. The organization first conducted a webinar through zoom giving insight into film making which was held on 4th August, 2020.
This year the Filmit Festival for schools in Mumbai was held virtually which otherwise is a grand celebration. The students were given time till October to complete their videos and upload on the site. From Parle Tilak Vidyalaya (ICSE) six students from grades VI to VIII took part and shared their videos on different themes. On 11th February, 2021 the organization held a virtual film festival to felicitate the students and the participating schools. Among the 146 films that were submitted from the schools of Mumbai one of our students Mst. Eeshan Pai from standard VIII/B won the ‘Best Original Story With a Message Award’ for his film ‘The Green Kingdom’.
