PTVA MILESTONES

From THE ANNALS OF History…
Parle Tilak Vidyalaya Association (PTVA), in its quest to render a befitting tribute to Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the well-acclaimed freedom fighter, established itself in the field of education. Its long and illustrious reputation continues since its inception in 1921. Renowned for its educational accomplishment, its value-orientated curriculum and the careful channelizing of talent in students, PTVA has made a name for itself in the educational field, in the State of Maharashtra. It goes without saying that the results at the Maharashtra State Secondary Board Examinations have been exemplary, with not only toppers but also several merit list rankers each consecutive year.

  • Today, the PTVA’s earliest venture – the PTV Marathi Medium School, has moved into a newly constructed five storied building at the beginning of this academic year (2011-2012).
  • With English asserting itself as a ‘lingua franca’ and its growing demand internationally, PTVA started the Parle Tilak Vidyalaya English Medium School in 1982 presently situated on an adjacent plot in the same vicinity as the PTV Marathi Medium School. Here too, top rankers and merit holders have given this school its prestigious position.
  • However, with the world becoming a ‘global village’ and people living interdependently, there is a need to equip the children, with an appropriate education to brace the challenges of the future. It is no surprise that there was an earnest request by the school parents, many of whom belong to the alumni of the same school, urging the PTVA Management to have a curriculum which will nurture the children by drawing out their full potential, empowering them with the resources to make the right choices in a world where transient values are buffeted by a stressful environment and knowledge explosion.
As a result, after much contemplation and research, the PTVA started Parle Tilak Vidyalaya (ICSE), progressively branching out further through the launch of its ICSE stream of education in 2008. It has a separate campus of its own with the three-storied building renovated with all the facilities and modern amenities in it.
