Dear Earth – Pledging Our Faith In You
Parle Tilak Vidyalaya ICSE (Primary Section) took ahead a legacy shared globally for the last 50 years- Earth Day. It is celebrated every year on April 22nd. Up
On 20th April, Earth Day Mass Assembly was conducted for the students of Grades III – V, to remind students of their duties towards ‘Mother Nature’. The Earth is our home, a gift to be cherished and protected. But for far too long, we have taken it for granted and created a world that is out of balance, a world where the natural world is in decline, and where species are becoming extinct at an alarming rate.
Through the mass assembly students learnt that we can still reverse the damage we have done, and create a more sustainable future for ourselves, and for the Earth. The program comprised a beautiful song, an informative powerpoint presentation and a skit that helped students understand the changes that can be brought about in one’s daily life to protect our planet. Students also took a pledge to be more mindful, more responsible, and more compassionate, to respect boundaries, and to cherish Earth’s beauty.
Activities such as Leaf/Hand Printing, Garbage Waste Management Campaign and Poster Making were also conducted during SUPW class for Grade III, IV and V, to celebrate Earth Week.
