International Yoga Day Mass Assembly of PTV ICSE (Primary Section)
‘‘Yoga is the journey of the self through the self, to the self.’’
The students of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya ICSE, Primary Section, celebrated International Day of Yoga with much zeal and enthusiasm. We had among us, as guests and judges:
Mrs. Sandhya Patki, Founder and Principal of New Age Yoga Institute and recipient of the Yoga Bhushan Award and Mrs. Hemangi Marathe, Yoga Master and Yoga Therapist with more than 35 years of experience.
The programme started with a Upasana presented by Kavya Karanth and Shriya Krishnan of Grade IV, for the peace and wellbeing of our souls.
The students of grades III, IV and V displayed an outstanding yoga demonstration dedicated to the Adi Yogi, Lord Shiva, portraying different asanas and formations, bringing together the mind, body and spirit and displaying a different form of fitness.
The Final Round of Yoga Competition (Grades II – V) was held during the Mass Assembly. Each participant demonstrated one asana each from the standing, sitting, prone and supine positions. They were judged based on technique, flexibility, accuracy, steadiness, grace and presentation.
The winners of the competition are as follows:
