The Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition 2026

Parle Tilak Vidyalaya (ICSE) had the honour of hosting the Frank Anthony Memorial All-India Inter-School Debate Competition 2026 (Category II – Stage I Preliminary Round) on 24th July 2026. Ten leading schools from Mumbai participated, with 20 student speakers showcasing exceptional critical thinking and oratorical skills.

The debate topic, “Eco-tourism is more harmful than beneficial in practice,” was revealed on the spot, after which participants were given one hour to prepare their arguments. The programme commenced with a prayer, a cultural performance, and a welcome address by the Principal, Dr (Mrs) Arnavaz Bhagat, followed by the spirited debate adjudicated by an eminent panel of judges.

The competition witnessed thought-provoking arguments, confident rebuttals, and exemplary public speaking. Certificates of Merit were awarded to the Best Speaker, First Runner-Up, and the winning team, while all participants received Certificates of Participation.The event concluded with a vote of thanks, and the National Anthem, making it a memorable celebration of intellectual excellence and healthy competition.
