Nurturing your Home Garden

Parle Tilak Vidyalaya (ICSE) has always aimed at educating children with classroom and out-of-classroom interventions, engaging students on prominent issues relating to the environment, life skills and active citizenship.

To facilitate this way of thinking, an initiative was taken by the ‘Sanjeevani Club’ of the school. Our teacher – Mr. Pritam Purab along with the assistance of Mrs. Preeti Iswalkar organised a workshop on ‘Indoor Plant Plantation’ on 15th June, 2023 for the students of Grade VI to VIII. This was done under the guidance and support of our Principal, Dr. Mrs. Arnavaz Bhagat.

The aim of the workshop was to empower each child to grow indoor plants independent of land and other resources that may or may not be at their disposal.

Through demonstrations and hands-on activities, the students were shown how to create gardens in living rooms and how small places in houses & schools can be easily converted into gardens through indoor plants with a little ingenuity.

The students were exposed to new and easy techniques of planting. They were given easy instructions on how to tend them.

The students were beaming with excitement and couldn’t wait to share their learning with those at home.
