Hands-On Creativity: Potter’s Wheel Activity

Hands-On Creativity: Potter’s Wheel Activity

The Potter’s Wheel Activity was conducted at Parle TIlak Vidyalaya ( ICSE) during the Bagless days for the students of grades 6 , 7 and 8. It offered students a delightful opportunity to get their hands on clay and experience the fascinating art of pottery-making. With enthusiastic participation, students explored the process of centering, shaping and moulding clay on the potter’s wheel, transforming a simple lump of clay into unique creations.

The activity was a wonderful blend of creativity, learning and fun. As students worked with the clay, they understood the importance of concentration, hand-eye coordination, patience and fine motor skills. The experience also taught them the value of perseverance, as creating a well-shaped pot requires practice, precision and patience.

Beyond the joy of creating something with their own hands, the activity helped students appreciate traditional craftsmanship and learn through hands-on experience.
